Podiatrist in Amsterdam
We are happy to introduce you to Maria, our English speaking podiatrist in Amsterdam!
Due to a possible language barrier, it can be hard for you and your podiatrist to deliver the right message. Communication is key to make sure the treatment procedure is well understood and for us to understand what is causing your physical complaints. Therefore Maria just joined our team. She is a Portuguese podiatrist and speaks fluent English, Portuguese and Spanish. We are very happy to welcome Maria to Voetencentrum Wender, to be able to provide better care to patients who prefer to speak a different language than Dutch.

Would you like to make an appointment?
Podiatry is covered by the supplementary insurance. Therefore, we advise you to inform yourself on the policy conditions of your health insurance provider. If your treatment is not covered by your insurance, you will have to pay the costs yourself. If you are not able to pay, please contact us. Please refer to our general payment conditions below.
What should you bring to your first visit?
In order to find the cause of your complaints, we sometimes examine the knees, pelvis, hips, and lower back. To be prepared for these examinations, we advise you to bring sports shorts or comfortable underwear. Lastly, please remember to bring the following items to your first visit:
• Valid identification (e.g. ID-card or passport)
• Shoes you frequently wear
• A referral from your GP (if necessary)
General payment conditions
When you get treated by one of our specialists, a so-called ‘treatment agreement’ is established. This means that the specialist who treated you has to be compensated for delivered services. The invoice has to be paid (only debit card) immediately after your treatment, or when picking up therapeutic tools.
What costs should you expect?
The costs of your treatment by one of our podiatrists depends on the type of care that is needed to treat your physical complaints. For example: when you are fully examined and your podiatrist develops custom made insoles, the costs for the examination and insoles will be €262,50. When you are younger than 16 years old, the costs will be €244,50. Other possible treatments, for instance silicon orthosis, ingrown toenail straigthening or a shoe advice, start from €74,00. Your podiatrist will always inform you about the costs and will ask your permission to start the treatment. Please note that a visit to our podiatrists always entails costs: for the examination or the consult.
